Artist Info: Since his first show at the age of 12 at the Alaska Folk Fest, Eric Tollefson has known his calling. Now some two decades later, the singer/songwriter is still true on that path, and it is the sacrifices he makes daily that give soul to the aptly-titled EP, This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things.

Tollefson made the move to Seattle in 2014 with the immediate intention of producing music to the high quality he had been envisioning, and those efforts have not been in vain. With support in the form of performance credits from a stacked cast of collaborators including Josiah Johnson (The Head & The Heart), Andrew Joslyn (Macklemore, Odesza), and Eric Heywood (The Pretenders, Ray Lamontagne), each of the record’s six songs are as well-made as they are written.

Produced by Justin Armstrong (Audioslave, Death Cab For Cutie), This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things has been in creation since Tollefson’s arrival in the Emerald City two years ago. The time spent was plentiful as the songwriter patiently quested after his dream for this record over multiple sessions in some of Seattle’s premier recording studios (Robert Lang Studios, Studio X). The result is a collection of expertly crafted songs inspired by the people he’s met along the way..
