Artist Info: We Are: The Guard, a crowd sourced music label for indie and alternative pop, wants you to have a very happy Holiday season. And, to make sure of it, the label is releasing Indie Christmas, a seriously catchy and compelling compilation of Christmas classics performed by some of today’s top indie and indie pop artists.

We Are: The Guard dropped the first single from Indie Christmas, a version of “The Christmas Song” by California-based garage-pop artist, DENM. “I wanted to do a classic holiday song but not one that’s been sung a thousand different times” shares DENM. “I went with those synth pop vibes to give it a fresh feel and to fit contextually with the style of the We Are: The Guard’s compilation.”

The album, just released, features the likes of Jamie Lidell, Brandyn Burnette, Janelle Kroll, JMR, Alxxa, MXMS, Cappa, Kyan Palmer, Micky Blue and Dog Orchestra. “’All I Want for Christmas’ has always been one ofmy favorite Christmas songs, but I was never able to sing along to it growing up (because its really hard to sing like Mariah Carey!),” shares Cappa. “I wanted to make a version that felt fresh and current but also that other people, including myself, could sing along to.”

Most notable, perhaps, is the remake of “Do You Hear What I Hear?” by celebrated British soul singer, Jamie Lidell, best known for his hits “Little Bit of Feel Good,” “Another Day,” and “Multiply.” “This is a great song to steer you to the dance floor,” says Lidell. “I gravitated to this old fave in my mind. Then my ass guided me to the present. Check it out!”
